Peter Lorre keeps a kitten in his jacket pocket, and occassionally pulls it out to talk to. Firstly we see it when he places it on a desk as he tries to count a wad of money, and later when it squeaks for some food, and leads Lorre to a dead body, he tells Karloff that, 'You know she has the most amazing instinct for crime and corruption.!'
